I would love to see C.J. Wilson in a yankee uniform next year. make it happen Cahsman.
Bill, that is a great call. I also like CJ and feel it is VITAL that the Yankees add another strong left handed starter to the rotation.
Although 31, he doesn’t have a lot of IP on his arm since he’s only made 53 lifetime starts so far. He uses a well-rounded 5-pitch arsenal to get a lot of ground-balls, but he can strike hitters out and does a great job of limiting HRs which is key at Yankee Stadium.
He reminds me a little of Cliff Lee and he looks like he’ll be the top FA starter in a limited/shallow market this Winter so he won’t be cheap. Depending on what Cashman can trade for between now and then, I think Wilson would be a great target to be the solid #2 starter they need to complement CC.
With CC & CJ at the top, veterans Colon & AJ and a bunch of young guys like Hughes, Nova, Noesi, Phelps, Warren, Mitchell, Betances & Banuelos, the Yanks will have a deep group of quality arms to work with. You could use some to fill out the bullpen or to use in a package for a talented Outfielder to take Swisher’s spot.
I hope you guys don’t mind, but for Yankee fans, I wanted to post my preview in podcast form breaking down the series and the Rangers. I hope you enjoy it:

No problems Ricky. We have linked our stuff on other blogs as well, so we understand.
Thanks Mike D.
Just shoot me your thoughts on the podcast guys, I always like hearing feedback or stuff u want to see in the future. If the file isn’t working, I can email it to u guys also!
Keep in mind, the software I use only allows me to do 15 minute podcasts.
Thanks guys and go Yankees!
It sounds very good, Ricky. Keep in mind, not all people have time/will to spend more than 15 minutes on a podcast, so don’t worry about it being short. I think yours is a solid length.
Good work, good info, good analysis.
Thank you very much:
I get what you mean Mike. I just hate feeling rushed, u know what I mean with the time length.
Good STuff Ricky.
If you feel rushed in your podcast, why not devote some of the info you want to talk about, to the podcast, and write about the rest of it in a post.
Thanks Matt, I appreciate it and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Mike, that is a good question, maybe I will start do that for the National League series. My plan was to talk with Cubs and Reds people about Jeter’s quest for 3000, but now that has to be altered
