  1. OK there are 2 total votes including mine and it’s a tie between Oswalt and Kuroda. I know I voted for Kuroda.

  2. White sox still not done I guess.

Blue Jays acquired RHP Jason Frasor from the White Sox for RHP Myles Jaye and RHP Daniel Webb.

    • Watch the next to go is Gavin Floyd. But according the Williams the White Sox are not in rebuilding mode OR are they.

      • Yeah seems to me that the White Sox are raising the white flag on this season.

        • Matt…I really like what the White Sox are doing. I don’t think they are rebuilding at all just changing the team culture that failed last year. I wonder if Dunn will play right field next year?

          • Isn’t Dunn very slow. You think he can play RF?

            • Matt can Dunn be much worse then what they had out there last year?

If the White Sox can get any offense next year with their potential rotation of a healthy Peavy, Danks, Floyd, Humber and the young lefty Chris Sale they still have a chance. They still have both Crain and Thorton in the pen with a lot of interesting young arms to fill out their pen.

If Dunn can play at least half of the time in RF would they sign a DH to improve their run scoring?

              • I guess stranger things have happened.

Buster Olney ranked his power Rankings in his insider article. His top 5 are.

                1. Tampa
                2. Philly
                3. Texas
                4. Yankees
                5. Arizona

                • Matt move Tampa to 6th an add Detroit an you have mine. I know everyone loves Tampa’s pitching but I have my doubts that they will live up to expectations.

                • Very surprised he has the Rays 1st. Also surprised neither the Tigers or Angles in in the top 5.

  3. I will give you guys the full top ten and what he said about the Yankees.

    1. Tampa
    2. Philly
    3. Texas
    4. yankees
    5. Arizona
    6. Boston
    7. Cardinals
    8. Tigers
    9. Angels
    10. Giants

    About the Yankees
“A year ago, the Yankees had major rotation questions, which prompted the rash signing of Rafael Soriano — and New York went on to win a league-high 97 games. Ivan Nova is now established, and the Yankees feel good about the chances of Phil Hughes rebounding.

The promotion of Jesus Montero into the big leagues should provide a boost for an offense that finished second in run production last year.

And the Yankees continue to hoard the prospects of an improving farm system and wait for a deal for a big-time starting pitcher to develop.”

    • I’m sure the Angels are happy to know with all the money they just spent Buster still don’t think there even close to the Rangers.

      • I know right I found that odd as well. Everyone has their own opinion though and that’s what makes it fun.

        • The Angels are where they should be. Only 4 AL teams had winning records against winning teams. They are are the big 3 in the East and Detroit. The Angels are better but just not good enough to be top 5.

          • I don’t think the Angels are a top 5 but I do think they deserve to be higher then 9th. The Angels certainly improved what was already one of the top starting rotation in MLB with the addition of Wilson a lefty (which they lacked last season). And the offense took leap forward with the addition of Pujols and all everything prospect Trout should help the offense in 2012 whether he starts the season in the Majors of comes up a couple months later.
I would not be surprised in the least to see a dog fight in the AL West for the division with quite possibly the Angels coming out on top. I just don’t think in 2012 there is that much that separates the Rangers and Angels.

        • Not that it matters but if I were to juggle Buster’s top 10 list it would look like this:
          1) Philadelphia
          2) Yankees
          3) Texas
          4) Detroit
          5) Boston
          6) Angels
          7)Tampa
          8) Cardinals
          9) Arizona
          10) Giants

Just a couple of comments about the list. I think the Rangers are going to really miss the lefty Wilson at the top of that rotation regardless if the ultimately sign Darvish or not. I think the Tigers are for real and are going to be very tough for a while. Boston has taken a step back in 2012 in my opinion. Angels I’ve already mention with the addition of Wilson and Pujols are a much better and more well rounded team then in 2011. Tampa and the Cardinals overachieved in 2011 I just don’t see that happening again in 2012. And before anyone thinks I forgot I know they get Adam Wainwright back. Arizona certainly improved but before I rate them any higher I want to see another breakout season by the ex Yankee Ian Kennedy. The Giants are the Giants they should be able to generate a little more offense in 2012 but I don’t think it’s enough. But what do I know.

  4. any guesses on a team that takes a flyer on Manny Ramirez. He is coming back this season after he sits out his suspension. Maybe there is the DH you need for the White Sox.

  5. If the Nationals sign Fielder then the Angles would be 10th.

  6. Not that it matters much but, I voted for Ozi. IF (IHTW) his back holds up, I think he is a better fit for the Yankees.

So, Happy New Years Guys and Lady!

  7. Dan…
Your in good form to-night, good picking!
I will put the Yanks #1, until they are knocked out. Yes, I am a Homer…I am a Yankee Fan..so shoot me! Second thought, don’t, it hurts and I hate to see a grown man cry. lol :)
