Montero at #42 still boggles my mind.
I agree Matt….Montero loses points because a lot of people believe he’s just a DH.
But I think he’s good enough to be at least a part-time Catcher and if Tex wasn’t locked up for 5 more yrs, he could be used as at least a serviceable 1B.
In any event it’s his bat that will carry him. The S2S write up compares Montero to Billy Butler but i think he’ll be even more valuable. He could be a player like Victor Martinez who can Catch, play 1B and DH while supplying an elite bat
IMO, Montero will hit more HRs than Butler & VMart with a similar BA so I would definitely have him in the top 10 and ahead of Gary Sanchez who is a younger playerwho hopes to develop as well as Jesus. Guess they have him higher because they think he can stick at catcher. IMO, Sanchez will eventually move to 1B or corner OF.
