My mind tells me Damon seems to have more health and has put up better numbers recently. He also still has decent speed and can steal a base or 2 while Matsui remains a statue on the basepaths.
However, I have a feeling that Matsui might be re-energized and I could see him hooking pitches into the RF seats at will.
Ironically, both players have become better hitters vs LHP lately and wouldn’t be ideal in a straight platoon facing RHP only.
that’s the reason i voted for Damon since he isn’t a statue on the base paths. Also cause he is a good team chemistry guy.
Only if money is the real issue and then I still would probably chose Betemit. If money isn’t an issue I keep shopping.
