By Delia E.
Derek Jeter will get the honor to receive the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award on Wednesday, presented by the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity at the Hard Rock cafe in Tampa, Florida.
The award is given to a Major League player who best shows Gehrig’s giving character. The award has been given since 1955. Jeter will join Gil McDougald, Bobby Richardson, Tommy John and Don Mattingly as Yankees players to win the honor.

Great! How did Jeter support the ALS cause?
