Good evening. Not a lot has happened in Yankee Land today, but another pitcher is off the Free Agent market. Roy Oswalt agreed to a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals.
This thread is for you to talk about anything that comes to your mind.
Have a good night.

Very interesting piece on bleacherreport yesterday. Here is the link if anyone is interested.

UYF busy day just catching up on everything now. interesting take. Still alot needs to happen. I think if Mo comes back that will hurt the chances of getting Hamels.
It could happen though.
One thing I know for sure is when/if Hamels becomes a Yankee that you will be first in line for his jersey at Model’s.
I will be one happy camper that’s for sure IF it happens.
The author’s math got a little confusing to me. I know when UYF broke it down we decided they had a certain amount to fill basically 7-8 positions.
It will basically come down to what do you think the yanks should invest there money on because they really can’t afford a $20-24M SP and a $18-20M OF unless you short-change a lot of positions in the everyday lineup.
We can hope Mason Williams, Gary Sanchez, etc can contribute in 2014 but I think it’s very unlikely they are both ready to be significant contributors as starters at premium positions (C & CF) in 2014 when they haven’t played above Rookie Ball and Low A, respectively.
UYF – Do you recall what we came up with in terms of available money for open positions?
Fishjam – Yes it was $39 to $40MM +/- for 5 positions.
CF
RF
Set Up Man
DH
Starting Pitcher
Here were my suggestions when we discussed it:
Possibilities for:
Center Field $18MM
Jacoby Ellsbury
Curtis Granderson
Josh Hamilton
For SP $5.5MM:
Chin Ming Wang
Set-Up $5MM
Joba Chamberlain
DH:
Use Money for CF
RF $10MM +/-
??????
This was basically the scenario I drew up:

TOTAL Payroll………………………………………… $188,500,000
Just a quick little follow up to the post I just did. Those numbers assume Jeter is in the line up without him there is a little more money because the assumption I guess would be Nunez would pick up that without picking up what would have been Jeter’s salary.
