You can never have enough pitching. These things always work themselves out with injuries or bad performance as we see with Pineda going to the DL.
Now that Garcia goes to rotation and not bullpen the Yankees have an extra spot to fill. Looks like Mitchell and others will have a shot to come back north with the team.
I read where before Cabral’s injury. Cashman said he had a good chance of making the team. I guess now it’s Rapada’s to lose as the 2nd lefty in the bullpen. And also like you mention another opening, hopefully for one of the young arms.
Rapada is out of options so if he doesn’t go with the team he will be plucked from another team.
I don’t care what Clay Rapada did with Baltimore…he has looked FANTASTIC as a Yankee so far. I am rooting for him to get the second spot in the bullpen.
As am I Delia……and with Pineda on the shelf it at least does smooth out the rotation and gives Garcia a chance to prove he can still start. No one’s really talked about how great he’s been in the spring. I don’t know why anyone should doubt he can’t keep it up.
Yanks aren’t hurt a whole lot by this, but it does make the initial trade spiral down the tubes. We’ll see what happens when Pineda gets back. If Pettitte’s back before then, and he is pitching good, it’ll be very interesting to see what goes down.
I noticed Garcia had a good Spring. It was just the fact that Garcia hadn’t gone very far in his starts. He would go 3 innings, 4 innings, but the game that no one saw (he was in the minor leagues) he went 6 2/3 innings.
I think it’s important to get some depth from Garcia. We need him now more than ever.
Warren is getting lit up by Houston. 4 Innings 9hits 5ER. Cano has a homrun and Granderson has 3 hits.
…and Ibanez’s bat has awoken. Boston is getting lit up by the Rays as ST winds down, It could happen to a nicer organization. That’s my attempt at sarcasm.
sounds good to me……
Warren gave up another homer. Mason Williams and Bichette are both in the game that’s nice to see.
Bichette hit a HR
Cabral will most likely go to the 60 day DL.
That can possibly give the Yankees a chance to keep him as opposed to returning him under the rule 5 conditions. If they need him when and if he’s ready and they have room on their roster.
Bichette Jr. just hit a homerun!!
Beat you to it.
It probably was because of all those extra keystrokes in your comment.
ha most likely. Can’t wait till the full roster is set. I would assume DJ Mitchell is going to get another audition.
I think you’re right. Now that the suspense has been removed from who’s in the starting rotation the only thing left are the 2 roster spots I believe to start the season.
BTW, both Ibanez and Chaves has looked pretty good recently offensively.
Bichette hit his 2nd HR of the just just a couple of minutes ago.
…2nd HR of the game. Sorry I missed a couple of words
Bichette, Jr is now 1 behind Ibanez for the team lead in ST Home Runs this season.
Sucks the game isn’t on TV.
Looks ike the first HR was off an A-ball pitcher. The 2nd was off a legit Major-lg reliever Brandon Lyon, however, he’s returning from arm surgery. Still nice to see.
Wow 2 homeruns great. Yeah def stinks this game wasn’t on tv.
Definitely a great thing to see out of Bichette.
