Yankees 25 Man Roster
The roster deadline has come and pass which means that the Yankees have their 25 man roster. Here is the list of the official roster and at the end, I will explain what happened to some of the other players that didn’t quite make the cut.
NEW YORK YANKEES 2012 25 MAN ROSTER

Raul Ibanez DH
Russell Martin C
Brett Gardner LF
BENCH PLAYERS
Andruw Jones OF

Justin Maxwell: It wouldn’t of mattered how well Justin Maxwell did this Spring. In the end, the Yankees designated him for assignment. Even if Justin Maxwell cleared waivers, he said that he could elect for free agency rather than go straight to Triple-A. This could be the end of Maxwell’s run in pinstripes.
Bill Hall: Bill Hall didn’t technically have an out in his contract, but he asked for one when he found out he didn’t make the 25 man roster. Hall will still like to play for a Major League team, but unfortunately, it’s not with the Yankees.

Guys for what it’s worth. According to my best figures for the 25 man roster Delia listed above the Yankees opening day payroll will be $190MM +/-.
Their payroll for MLB Luxury Tax purposes for the 2012 season as of this moment is: $212MM +/- (all inclusive benefits, incentives, etc..) Which would put their Luxury Tax at about $14.3MM
Just thought you would all like to know.
can we get the full list of your full payouts that you do if you don’t mind.
Not sure I understand what you mean.. Or what you are looking for? Let me know and I’ll be happy to send it. Do you want me to post it? It never lines up right or would you like me to email it to you?
if you can just post it as a comment. Even though it doesn’t lineup as well we all can still get the point of it.
I’ll try in just a minute. See how it looks.

Thank you very much.
No problem, my pleasure.
I’m sorry for leaving a link in the comments, but I just did a ton of work on the team’s payroll (according to the Luxury Tax) that I thought would interest some of you.

Note that I don’t have the salaries for Rapada nor Stewart, and the number posted does not include incentives (I have a chart showing those below the salary chart).
no need to be sorry. that is welcome.
looks like you missed Aardsma as well. nice layout and chart though. good work.
Thanks, man.
Actually, the Luxury Tax only goes by the 40 man roster. Neither Aardsman or Feliciano are currently on the 40 man roster, as they were put on the 60 day DL. Of course that will change, but for right now I think I got it all.
anyone watching the intro’s to this game? If the Yankees came out with dancers like this they would get crushed.
a No – Hitter to start the season? could happen tonight.
answer…..NOPE!
