  1. luckily i’m off tomorrow so i can sit back and enjoy the game.

  2. looks like the Tigers are doing the yankees a favor today.

  3. Verlander threw an absolute gem.
Valverde is in now. I’m shocked he was a perfect 49 for 49 in saves last yr. His stuff doesn’t wow me but he’s been doing the job. He’s given up 1 run today but I hope he coses it out now.

  4. So much for that!
He went 49 for 49 last yr and blows hist 1st save this year,
Ryan Sweeney tripled to tie it 2-2.

  5. Pitchers are dominating around MLB today. A lot of low-scoring games.
Mets won 1-0….Johan was great but only went 5.

    • Pitchers usually dominate in April, the ball doesn’t carry as much, plus the hitters don’t hit as well in cold weather. I saw a comparison once that showed a ball will travel 25 feet further at 80 degrees than it will at 50 degrees. This was really shown by the Twins when they left the dome and went to Target field. There HRs really went down. I heard Mattingly talking about how they will be playing the first month of the season in nice weather, west coast and domes.

  6. A trio of ex-Yanks heped us out today in the 9th inning in Detroit.
Melancon got an out but gave up 2 hits so Bobby V panicked and put Aceves in.
Aceves hit the #9 hitter to load the bases and Austin Jackson delivered the Game-winning hit.

    • Friggin Valverde. Him and Paps are my two hated players. Can’t stand them.

      • I agree although I put Beckett above Paps for sure and maybe Valverde. I will call it a tie between Beckett and Valverde lol

      • It was great to see Valverde blow a save, and the Sox lose, on the same day. But it does bring up an issue… the rules on pitcher wins is stupid. The fact that Valverde can get a win after his outing is ridiculous. No biggie, but as a fantasy baseball player, it kind of bugs me.

    • fishjam, I really think the loss of Papelbon is going to hurt the Sox, Ace and Melancon are not comparison. Nice game, Verlander and Lester showed while they are called aces. Tito had alot of great things to say about Pedroia, he is a gamer. As an ex ASU grad I root for him when they are not playing the Yanks, of course I still want the Sox to lose.
