Girardi got the lineup right good job. Nunez should be playing against pretty much every lefty
This is a horrible lineup. Girardi continues to prove he’s worse then CLUELESS!
and gradnerson should be batting 6th? what’s up with that? I just don’t get it.
It’s his first start but I was against the Kuroda signing from day one. This isn’t the NL West.
Hitters look very comfortable against him.
can’t wait to read the papers tomorrow if they are going to lose this game. They will be calling for Girardi’s head.
Matt I want Cashman’s head. You guys were all WAY too hard on those of us who love the Yankees but thought shipping out AJ for nothing, signing Kuroda, and trading Noesi and Montero for Pineda were all wrong. I hated each and every one of those moves and was screaming about them all offseason.
The guy was chasing a whacko and then being chased by her as he made a few of those moves. I don’t believe you can seperate business from personal, especially in a job like his. If your head isn’t on straight in personal then if affects your business.
I honestly believe he made the Montero trade and signed Kuroda because at that point he KNEW that the story would break soon about him and the whacko and he wanted something huge to be done in the offseason to grab all the headlines.
I hope I’m wrong, its only game 2, but none of those moves made the slightest bit of sense to me and they still don’t.
The best thing that could happen to us is that Kuroda is using an alias like Carmona was, gets discovered, and gets deported.
I take away from all of that “it’s only game 2″ Come on the Mets are 2-0 we know that isn’t going to hold up.
excuse people for not making judgments after game 2
Rapada def not making a good first showing.
Maddon is just out managing Girardi. The shift is killing players like Tex.
Now watch the Rays light up Mr Straight Fastball tomorrow. Girardini and Hughsie will bring a Happy Easter to Tampa as the Yanks go 0-3 to start the season. Very likely 3 games out after the first series!
This shifting that Maddon does is amazing.
It’s not really amazing. The best managers aren’t afraid to make gut moves or think outside of the box. They also use their eyes and not just charts.
I find shifting Arod to be dumb but it keeps frekng working l. Arod is usually fine with hitting the ball the other way.
There is nothing dumb about smart managing and looking at spray chart tendencies. While Alex isn’t as pronounced as Cano, Granderson and Martin when it comes to pulling ground balls shifting still makes sense.

Barney….
The difference between doing the things the Rays way and Joe’s way is…..; If the moves work 99 of 100 times for Joe and didn’t for just 1 time, Joe would be run out-of-town. Rays have 60% success rate and nothing is said of it, but, then again, they aren’t the Yankees are they?
