Chavez to DL; Yanks call up Nix

Chavez to DL; Yanks call up Nix

By Delia E.

The Yankees had made a roster change and for the Yanks, it’s not good. The Yankees have placed Eric Chavez on the 15 day DL after suffering a concussion in last night’s game. The Yankees refused to send down a pitcher, instead they brought up young Jayson Nix to be another bat on the bench. In Scranton, Nix is batting .233 with 0 HR’s & 4 RBI’s.

Morning Bits: Phelps, Gardner, Chavez, Pettitte

Good morning everyone! Okay, I’ll admit it–last night’s game wasn’t all that great, but it’s time to move on to the Kansas City series. David Phelps will take the mound for the Yankees. Here are the morning links!

– David Phelps is going to pitch in Kansas City–just three hours from where he grew up

– Well, it looks like Brett Gardner suffered a tiny setback. Gardner was shutdown again for another couple of days due to feeling a bit of pain where he suffered the bone bruise. Seeing him for the Kansas City series will be unlikely.

 – Eric Chavez suffered a concussion during yesterday’s game, giving the Yankees more injury woes. Eric Chavez will not make the trip to Kansas City.

– Andy Pettitte testified during the Roger Clemens case and now admits that he’s only “half-sure” that Clemens used HGH.
