Morning Bits: Rays Pitching, Swisher, Pettitte, Soccer at the Stadium

Good morning all.   New series starts tonight and it’s very important as it’s against a division rival the Tampa Bay Rays.  On the bump tonight is Ivan Nova and James Shields. First pitch is set for 7:05.   Enjoy the day.

Let’s get right to the links….

– Mark Feinsand of The Daily News writes that the Yankees hope tough pitching of Tampa Rays does not cool Bombers recent offensive surge.

Connor Orr of The Star Ledger has an article about how Nick Swisher is difficult to tune out, on and off the field.

– The Yankees decision on Pettitte will be made today writes Bryan Hoch of MLB.COM.

– Here is a great way to ruin the field during the season.  It was announced yesterday that a soccer match will happen at the stadium July 22nd at 7pm.

David Waldstein of The New York Times writes about how the Yank’s closer situation isn’t open and shut.
