  1. Votto is a beast. I like watching him play.

    • he’s a special hitter, one of the best in the game. And he’s just getting Hot in the last week. Jay bruce is another big-time hitter on this team. they have some good talent.

Cueto has filthy stuff and Bailey has a big arm.

      • I think i read they have Chapman in the bullpen to keep his inning limits down and then they will turn him into a starter soon. is that correct?

        • Bruce and Votto are especially scary at Yankee Stadium. Both would hit at least 40 bombs if they played here

  2. Love interleague but the scheduling is so damn strange. Why on earth do they play the Reds when they played them last year and all their other interleague matchups are against the NL East this year. And why on earth are they playing the Braves twice this season? I want to see as many different teams I can which is the point of interleague not a team I saw last year and a team twice in one year.

  3. This site has to be among the leading edge blogs, I had a chance to read a few blogs I don’t go to much.
What I found was a lot of stuff we (when not reaching) have been saying for days. Bleacher Report is a big one for writing things like that but, one must remember most of their writers are fans just like us.
Stuff like “Joe is not the problem, it’s the players stupid”! “It’s not old age, it is called a team slump!” or “It will smooth out soon enough”!
I must say, I have been reading many posts that make one go off the bridge (writing them also, well a couple), let us all pull in our horns and relax.
This is our team, good or bad, let’s give them a chance to get on track and pull this year out…if this were the Mets or Bsox, I would worry!
This is the New York Yankees! :)

    • I agree with you with Bleacher Report. They seem to write just to write. Not much substance.

      • and thank you for the kind words Ken.

        • Matt…they are true words, I think many of the guys here can back me up, you all have good people on the staff. A few good fans following and commenting, we need many more to have fun! :)

          • It all takes time Ken. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Takes time to build a following.

            • Yup…
Now as I remember it…I told the guys not to hurry because, years from now people would say just that: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”
I see you have two ads, good…it will help!
Next two games will show me a lot about this team, no matter if they win or……..! I also believe Nunez will come back when Brett shows up. A few fans can’t see the forest for the trees, Brett hits about 5+/- HRs a year, therefore he is only good for late inning defense. Nunez is an error waiting to happen so was Jeter, the difference is, Jeter was brought up because of injury and played every day at SS. :)

  4. this line has me laughing this morning……

“Now as I remember it…I told the guys not to hurry because, years from now people would say just that: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”

Ken you are a pure wordsmith. Love how you put things.

  5. Hay, if we can’t have fun, what are we doing!
By the way, any word from Twasp or BCD?
Heck, half the stuff I comment is just to give the other guys a somewhat different twist. Everyone has an opinion, not one of us is always right. That should be; “not one of you is always right”! I am exempt, as I am always right.
Fishjam did you read this? lol :)

    • nope no word. I really enjoy the core group we have so far. From Doug with all his experience to John who has good thoughts…..to UYF with all his book keeping with salaries (not sure where he has been of late) to everyone else. We have a good foundation at this blog which is just a year old.

      • I know I am having a ball and am proud to have been among the first on the site after you and Mike started it. A couple of very old guys down south read this site and I get e-mails every so often telling me how much your enjoy reading your Blog! :)
