anything worse then listening to Bob Lorenz do Yankee games. Well besides Kay & O’Neill. Again this is where the Mets out shine the Yanks. Would rather listen to those guys call a game then any Yankee team of announcers.
and there goes any hopes that Montero of the Diamondbacks comes to the Yankees next year. He just signed for 60mil
Well the NY Rangers are done. Now more attention will focus to baseball in the NY area.
Bases loaded, one out and A-Rod hits into a DP….not good. Tex hit a HR, which is good to see.
Another HR on a meatball Changeup for Nova….stick with the hard- 94, 95 MPH moving FB and really concentrate and try to spot those offspeed pitches.
How many times have the Yankees made the 1st out at 3rd and Home this year? Ugh!
Good job by some of the efties going the other way today with Ross running everything away.
HAHAHAA….and on que, Swish goes oppo for a 2 run HR
Here are some injury updates on Gardner & Robertson
Robertson played catch yesterday and felt good today. If he’s good then he’ll play catch again tomorrow.
Gardner was pushed back and won’t pick up a bat until Monday.
Good stuff thanks Delia.
Another head-scratching outing by Nova. The final results are fine….7ip, 3er, 6h, 1 bb, 4 k, 2 hr QS
But, if he was facing any other offense, it would have been a typical 5 run outing . His stuff looks very good but he continues to throw nothing off-speed pitches up and in hitter’s Hot Zones. Threw a nothing Change Up, thigh-high and inner half that Reddick deposited and hung a Curveball belt-high over the plate for Kaihue’s HR. Thankfully, they were solo HRs.
The rest of the hits all were poorly located also and he had a lot of fly ball outs.I like that he threw more Fastballs and very little Sliders (the few he threw weren’t good).
Nova has the talent but he must mature – embrace that he’s a groundball pitcher and work on his craft to deveop consistency in his pitches and improve his command…..still too wild within the zone,
Morning Fishjam…
Wild in the zone is being, a bit intriguing, when I see the catcher set up at the hands inside and have to reach across the plate for the pitch…even though he got the SO…I would really be on the side of him being wild in the zone. Just the long way of saying I agree.
fishjam, Nova is like 75% of the pitchers in the majors, they have the stuff but not the location or deception. When Nova makes bad pitches they are going to get hit hard. The elite pitchers have velocity, location, movement on the ball, deception, and confidence in their pitching patterns. That’s why they call then aces.
