  1. Double duty for you this week-end Delia…good going young lady! :)

  2. Bartolo Colon is just what the doctor ordered for our offense…..he just keeps pumping average fastballs right over the plate and up. Thanks Barto!!

  3. Good to see Tex get some hits. Hope it is the start of a turnaround and not just the product of facing some poor pitching.

He had 5 HRs in 173 PAs before coming to Oakland
Now he has 3 HRs in 9 PAs in 2 games @ OAK

    • Hopefully Cano and Tex have alot more games like that this season.

      • Cano has one of the best swings in baseball, he has killed the ball recently. If Tex has a hot streak the Yanks will win a bundle.

        • Doug…
You have that about 85% right, he does have the sweetest swing in baseball when he forgets the right field wall. His swing is the first thing that caught my eye when he was in the minors, the 2nd was his arm, man that was a few years ago!

          • Without a doubt, Cano is the most talented player on this team. He is someone I’d pay to watch. There was a piece on him on YES a few days ago with him talking about his swing mechanics – very interesting. He keeps his hands back so well even when he is fooled. I like when he gets out on his front foot but keeps the hands back and rips it to LF.

            • george jetson

Fish who else would you want to see? This is still a boring team managed by a boring slug.

              • On the current team, without a doubt they are the least interesting Yankees team in a while. I posted this previously, but this is what is interesting about the Yanks and sadly a lot of these guys are injured or have been banished:

                - watching Cano hit & play D
                - watching Robertson pitch, especially out of a jam
                - watching Mo seemingly effortlessly hit the corners and mow through the 9th
                - watching Gardner fly around the bases and the OF
                - CC & Andy are a joy to watch
                - watching any promising young players play – is Phelps still on the team? where is Nunez? Mustelier? Montero?

              • But George we coud be A’s fans. With Cespedes out, they have a pathetic lineup. With the exception of Weeks & Reddick, they have nothing in that lineup. I like Seth Smith but it seems hitting in that stadium is hurting him.

            • Can anyone doubt your statement? I sure can’t.

    • It’s not Oakland it’s getting out of NY and relaxing, the Yanks are on a roll on the coast, no more talk about RISP please, This team will be in first place by the All Star break.

      • I’ll believe that if they hit Milone well today. They faced some terrible pitching the last 3 games but Milone is a quality young pitcher with multiple pitches who is tough in that ballpark. Yanks have a history of hitting well vs LHP in day games….Jeter especially.

      • george jetson

There in NO way the Yankees will be in first place by the All Star break.

  4. Interesting Yankee rotation stats…….

4 Starters among AL leaders in K/9:
    #4 – Nova 9.0
    #7 – Hughes 8.8
    #8 – C.C. 8.7
#20 – Pettitte 8.0 (if enough IP to qualify)

4 Starters among leaders in HR/9 allowed:
    #1 – Hughes 2.09
    #4 – Nova 1.93
    #7 – Huroda 1.69 (Pettitte also at 1.69 in 3 starts)
    #26 – CC 1.12

    • What does this tell Rothchild, Yanks are pounding the strike zone, when they get ahead they get Ks, when they swing early they get lit up.

      • george jetson

It tells you that this is how Rothchild was the Cubs. I don’t like it at all. I want my starters getting ground ball outs and relievers can go for K’s.

    • Fishjam…
Good stats, well,,,the first set are anyway…the others, not so much! :)
