Morning Bits: Series Sweep?, Cashman, Ibanez, Gardner, Robertson
Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday to you all! The Yankees go for the
sweep today in Oakland. Hiroki Kuroda is on the mound for the Yankees today (for some reason, every time I see Kuroda starting a game, I get the same feeling that I used to get when A.J used to start a game.) Anyway, onto the morning links!
– The Yankees will try to go for the series sweep, but when was the last time they actually swept a team? Try April 9-11 vs. the Orioles in Camden Yards.
– The New York Post takes a look at Brian Cashman’s track record as the Yankees General Manager.
– When the Yankees signed Raul Ibanez, they thought they were going to use him as a DH, maybe get him into LF once or twice a week. Now with the injury to Brett Gardner that has sidelined him since April 17, Ibanez had to play the outfield a lot more than planned.
– The Yankees are being very careful when it comes to rehabbing David Robertson. So is my idea of bubble wrapping the players and pitchers to prevent injuries still out of the question?

Good day to all….
There is an easy way of fixing the problem in LF for now and DH/OF/3rd base for a long time…Mustelier!
Mustelier is raking and can play a few positions well, he hits right handed but, let’s see what he can do .
What think you guys?
Ken,
Fishjam, George Jetson, myself and others have been calling for this for the last two weeks. Give him a shot and get rid of Wise.
Damn Matt, you forgot to add my name to that list but, that’s ok…I’ll just go dig some worms for supper! Anyhow, what I am getting at is bring him up and play him, not spot start only against leftys. I have never liked the idea of using young guys only against the other handed pitchers…what are they learning, that they can’t hit same handed pitchers when they have been do very well up until now?
Sorry Ken.
Matt…
I will not accept the nomination, I will……oh, darn, that’s the wrong one! What about, ok, that saves me from going out into the heat of the day to dig.
Come on Matt, you know I am always on the cutting edge, when we talk about players coming up! Well, maybe I use a dull knife but, I can over come that small handy cap! lol
Just kidding Matt, who of us can remember who said what when and where?
Wise serves absolutely no purpose on this team. However, if the Yankees continue to play good ball you can look back at his bunt in the KC game as perhaps even a season changer lol
Delia…
There is another Brett type player in this upcoming draft, Named D.J. Davis, he is a CF with great speed (fastest guy in the draft) knows how to use what he has and bunts for hits. Whether he will last until the Yankees pick him (2nd/3rd round) I doubt but, I can hope!
