Here we go. Since his name is in trade rumors Would you…….
trade for Hanley Ramirez of the Marlins and send A-Rod to the Miami Marlins. Yankees would pay some of the remaining contract for A-Rod.
Yes or No and why?
Yes but why would Miami want that? Only reason I could think of is attendance. A-Rod is actually having a better season than Hanley and we would loose a lot on defense but it is just not about comparing those 2. Getting rid of Arod’s contract would allow the Yankees to get some other good players along with Hanley. And I am not one of those people who just bash A-Rod for no reason and overly hate on him but yes i would have to do it. Hanley still has superstar potential and they can get some for good players with the money they would save.
Fill seats catch lightning in a bottle. not sure. just threw it out there. It does seem that they want to get rid of Hanley though. you figure if they get A-Rod with some prospects they would do it.
Han-Ram though does seem to take many plays off which is annoying to watch. But he is a heck of a player even though he is having a down year this year.
Matt, if there was a team to take him it would be Miami. A-Rod is from down there and the owner cares a lot about his money.
yeah i know he is from down there he works out at the Miami U a lot. He gave 3.9 million awhile back to fix up there ballpark.
Goodness the Dodgers got Hanley for a straight salary dump pretty much. The Yankees really should have been all over him for that price IMO.
The Yankees have a lot more high paid contracts than the Dodgers do.
Anybody else notice this lineup has 3 straight lefties? Guess Girardi just figures Jones will PH for one of them when that time comes.
Time came and Girardi let Ibanez look stupid.
Matt – That lineup should have been for an old-timers game
Jeter 38
Arod 37
Chavez 39
Ibanez 40
Sizuki 38
Looks like Pirates might get Wandy Rodriguez
and they did. Good for them making moves and not selling like they usually do.
King Felix tonight. Yankees need to work the count and let him throw pitches. Last time he faced the Yankees he went 6.2IP, 11H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 7K, 1HR and took the loss.
YI know Felix is great but the anks have wasted some golden opportunities tonight so far while Seattle has taken advantage of theirs and run the bases perfectly. They went 1st to 3rd twice on Ichiro and cashed in both runners with less than 2 outs.
I thought Granderson should have scored from 2nd on ARods hit but was OK with it because there were no outs. But we didn’t score. Cano continues to be over-aggressive with runners in scoring position and failed again with runners on 1st and 3rd. Then Ibanez Kd with bases loaded and 1 out.
The next inning Ichiro led off with a double but Stewart couldn’t advance him to 3rd and he was stranded by Jeter & Grandy.
Yanks continue to not execute and get beaten fundamentally by their opponents which is not a good way to win close games. Hopefully the addition of Ichiro is a sign that Girardi/Cash recognize this and will make an effort to stress these things in the 2nd half.
Fish , that was our crack Alfred E Newman 3base coach who blew two signals – Grandy and Jeter. Have you seen ratings of 3b coach performances regarding correct stop/go calls ? Thompson is dead last.
Shit, ARod was in some serious pain there. Hope the wrist isn’t broken!
Of course right when he is finding his groove to. They would be in serious trouble without him. And why the hell was Ibanez hitting in that spot?
Terrible timing as he was just starting to feel it at the plate. Expect Nova to get some retribution today. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional but Felix drilled Ichiro, Jeter & ARod during a 5-batter stretch and Ibanez got dropped by a 93-mph Fastball a few inches from his face 2 batters later by Luetge. You MUST show protction for your hitters even if there was no intent by Seattle. Just a reminder that you have to be more careful and to tell the hitters you have their backs.
Exactly Fish, you can’t let pitchers go inside witH impunity. Who do you think the Yankees will bean?
No one jumps to mind….maybe the catcher Jaso. I’d drill the first guy who comes up with 2 outs and no one on base.
