– Alex Rodriguez took batting practice today for the first time since his injury.

– Joe Girardi  says Mark Teixeira will be out “seven to eight to 15 days.”

– Casey McGhee was optioned to Class-A ball for Steve Pearce. Charleston isn’t going to the play-offs so McGhee will be with the Yankees again next week.

  1. I’m def surprised they sent McGehee down for Pearce. I thought the reason they picked Pearce up was because they were short a RH bat vs LHP. By dropping McGehee, they still have to play Ichiro, Chavez or Ibanez vs LHP and needless to say, they are all horrible against lefties.
