Jeter!!!!
and it’s back to a tie game. ugh!
I really don’t understand some of the decisions Kuroda has made today. Before every game the pitcher, catcher and pitching coach get together to go over the oppossing team and discuss strategy. Looking at this Red Sox lineup, 3 things stick out to me:
1 – It’s a fairly weak lineup with Pedroia the only big hitter to wory about
2 – James Loney behind him sucks
3 – DO NOT LET PEDROIA beat you!
I didn’t even know that Pedroia has been the best hitter in baseball since August 5th hitting .367 with a 1.035 OPS.
Knowing that he let Pedroia beat him twice with a go-ahead RBI and a game tying RBI. With 2 outs and a man on 2nd he easily could have been pitched around to get to Loney…instead RBI single. Then with 1 out and no one on, behind 2 and 0 he threw a straight Fastball right down the middle for a HR. Who throws FBs down the middle down 2-0? Why can’t someone challenge Cano like that?
To every word of this, AMEN!!!!!
WOW, this is how we play with 1st place on the line?!?!
Pop-up bunt that Nix should have caught and Jeter probably could have caught
Bunt booted by Martin
Weak grounder that Logan doesn’t cover 1B
Result = Bases loaded without a ball even reaching the infield dirt!!!!
Martin’s error was the most egregious of the offenses committed. Everytime I crush his offensive production I hear people tell me about what a great defensive catcher he is. I simply don’t see it. I see a slightly better than average defensive catcher who can’t hit.
They should have gotten 2…. where was cano?
Jeter CAUGHT the popup
You sound surprised Twasp. Lol
Got scared there for a sec…….Delia…….flashback.
Fish – did you ever forget to cover first?
Absolutely never! It should be in a pitcher’s instincts to move towards first base on every ball hit to the right side of the field. I suppose it’s much easier for a RHP because their natural momentum is towards 1B but still the pitcher has to get there.
Not only all of the games but countless hours of PFP drum it into your brain.
