last night…YES said, Gardner [who is on the DL]…can not be activated until someone is cut/released from the 40 man roster. I was not aware of that…

They move Dellin Betances to the 60-day DL, which automatically takes him off the 40 man. So that’s how they added Andy back on.
Oh no Delia …maybe GARDNER isn’t coming back on the roster!!

Delia – The Yanks put Dellin Betances on the 60-day Disabled List to make a spot for Andy. They can do the same thing if they want to put Gardner on the roster. Take someone who is on the 40-man but in the minors who they have no intention of bringing up and put them on the 60-day DL. Corban Joseph, David Adams, Zoilo Almonte & Austin Romine are possibilities.
Nix at 3rd? What is going on with this line-up? Where is Nunez? I have a Great-Grandson that could do a better job than this, with building blocks!
What won the game last night? Speed, that’s what did it, it’s much esayer to get a hit if you have some one on 3rd, that had just stole 2d than 3rd. You face the next batter all out of wack…I would take the bet on half the young pitchers making a mistake, on the hitter at that point.
Wether anyone wants to hear it or not, Nunez, Ichi (Brett when healthy) and Dickerson, need a spot in the every day line-up…we need to score runs, put some guys that know how to get on base and do something when they get there…with the speed to do something other than one base at a time.

Fish – seems like Arod preferred way to get hits nowadays is to punch ball up middle. do you think this is on purpose or a floor in his hitting mechanics?
Many people got excited because ARod had some success quickly upon his return. He did…..and it was much needed. His mere presence in this depleted lineup was/is huge. But many of his hits were bloops and jam-shots to CF. He definitely isn’t feeling good at the plate and it often takes him a while to find his groove. He had a big series against Baltimore but overall since his return, here are his #s:
16 for 62 (.258 BA) with 20 strikeouts & 4 Walks in 69 PAs, 2 2B’s, 3 HRs – 12 RBI
his line is .258/.290/.435/.725
His best stat is his 12 RBI in 16 games as he’s done a good job with 2 Sac Flies and 2 RBI GOs but he clearly does not look comfortable at the plate yet. In his history coming back from injuries he often has some immediate success the first game or first week, but it takes him time to feel it at the plate. Hopefully, he’ll find it soon because they need him and/or Cano to heat up to do well in the playoffs.
Yeah….Arod was way better right before his injury. I don’t think he looks back yet either.
Drop the barrel on the ball……..but hit it in the air for home runs…..
a hitter coming back after a long time off needs to get his approach and swing under control.
He looks like he is setting up and approaching everything a bit different now. Usally one can get started up the middle.
He is taking a smaller lift and set of his left leg, pluse a few other things.
Well hitting up the middle for hits does help the team as he is settles back into his hitting form. Yeah he does seem to have a smaller leg kick.

I think that to myself a lot T-man. Good thought. I don’t ever boo my guys. Even Swisher (who everyone knows I’m not a fan of) If they player is on my team I support them.
Only time I remember Jeter getting booed was about 5 years back when he went through a terrible 1 for 41 stretch or something and was hitting under .200 early in the season. Morons started booing him and there was talk in the Media if Jeter should ever be booed. Of course he wound up hitting .300+.
I admit that I’ve booed A-Rod once or twice but I try not to (even though I really don’t like him). A-Rod does what he has to do and those “fans” during the Toronto series really had it out for him.
It just makes our fans not look knowledgeable since A-Rod was hitting .300 since he came back from the DL until this series.
Even worse, booing has no positive effect on your player and may have a big negative effect if he starts pressing. Like Arod in his first few playoffs with the Yankees.

A real Yankee Fan would never boo his players or team. Even back in the mess from 1965 to 1993, a lot of fans booed but as many didn’t…now that was a hard time to be a Yankee Fan.
As Matthew S, dislikes Swisher, for reasons of his own, I dislike Jeter for reasons of my own…but, the bottom line is, Matt nor I would ever wish them anything but good luck.

The only time I will Boo a Yankee is for lack of hustling, mental mistakes or poor effort…..there is no excuse for that on a baseball field. It bothers the shit out of me to see guys loaf on the field.

DEREKJETER WAS NEVER BOOED
Jeter’s been booed. There are many dumb fans who forget what a player has done yesterday and it’s all about what they are doing right now. This is the season I was talking about when jeter was booed early in the year….2004. he went on an 0 for 32 streak and was hitting .189 with a .528 OPS as late as May 25th. he was booed and there was a lot of talk in the media if it was right for Yankee fans to boo the Captain.
