Good morning all. The Yankees did what they had to yesterday sweeping the double-header. Ichiro was on fire and both Pettitte and Phelps put out good outings. B’more still won’t go away winning another extra inning game. Tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:05PM EST. On the mound will be Hughes vs Laffey. Baltimore is off tonight and Tampa has a game against the Red Sox.

I wasn’t on the Soriano bandwagon when he came to the team but he has been great this season with Mariano going down.
Yeah at the time I was one of the few for it. At that time our rotation was a big question mark with Colon/Freddy so why not make the games 7 innings affairs with DRob/Sori/Mo? Soriano was he only impact player available at the time.

but there are 14 games left,…. jeter averages over 1.35 hits per game played this season,….jeter averages more than a hit per game,….. jeter can get 20 more hits this season i think
Rumor about Cano being suspended 50 games for steroids.
hoping it’s a false rumor. Peter Gammons said he heard about it 3 weeks ago. Mad Dog Russo says it’s false.
I think it’s been on a lot of people’s minds since Melky got caught since they were close. But I don’t think its true….PLEASE don’t be true!
Obviously that would be crushing and I don’t want to give it creedence yet since its just a rumor. ….but think of the reprocussions. he’d obviously miss the rest of the season and post-season, plus the beginning of next yr. Yanks could give Nunez the 2B job for 50 games or maybe platoon Corban Joseph & David Adams. There’s obviously Nix but I’d keep him in his Utility role.
But the big thing is how would it effect his upcoming Free Agency in 2014. The Yanks were burnt by giving ARod the 10 yr $300M deal under false pretense.

I don’t believe Robinson Cano would use steroids. Just because he was close to Melky, that doesn’t mean he was using. Whoever said he was using steroids just questioned Robinson Cano’s integrity to this game. i don’t think Cano has to cheat to be good. I think he’s just originally this good.
Delian- unfortunately they almostnall cheat. Cano’s upper body has been ballooning like POPEYE THE STEROID MAN. Anyonenseeing his HR performance 2 years ago had to get a clue. Melky, Aod and Cano were tied at the hip. And then shot with HGH, liquid Testtosterone and Boli.
