yeah, knew Girardi would break up the lefties. He dropped Tex to 6th also. The key to playoffs is ARod Swish Tex & Grandy……someone has to step up. I think they will…..vs BALT at least.

I think we all think the 1st two hitters will get on base a time or two (I sure hope so), then it is up to the next 3+ guys to get them in.

Well, I think I may have picked guys with a bit too much talent but, what the heck go for it, right. I can’t imagine how one with the talent they have would ever think of playing for a team other than a winner.

Yanks have the 3 best starters in this series,CC,ANDY and Kuroda.Girardi needs to let the horses pull the wagon,if he does and they do what they should do and are capable of doing Yanks run through the O’s.(LIKE THE LAST TIME YANKS WON THE ws)
If it turns into a bullpen war the O’s and Buck win.Yanks pen is shaky and I’m worried about Robertson.The regular season is over and for the 1st time in 18 years we don’t have the edge with Moe.
I do like the speed on the team for this series and the improved defense in the OF with Ichiro and Gardy late innings.
Exactly BP, the bullpen is the weak spot. And people are forgetting Mo isn’t there anymo’

On paper the Yanks are a better team than BAL. We have a big edge in starting pitching and our lineup is better. But Baltimore has done the little things better all year and they seem to have one red-hot hitter at all times (Davis, Reynolds, etc). Wieters shuts down the running game and Buck will out-maneuver Joe more times than not.
CC is a huge factor. He’ll start twice in this series and has struggled with BAL this yr. If he pitches well and one of the 4 middle hitters (Swish, ARod Tex or Grandy) can do something, we should win the series. The pen is a concern and the Yanks have had trouble with Johnson & O’Day, however, they have had success and good ABs against Strop all year.
long as they don’t try and cute by trying to sneak the game in between periods of rain. i’d gladly take a delay at the very beginning than in the middle like last year.

YES doesn’t broadcast the games because TBS and FOX came into the picture. YES doesn’t do the actual game for the rest of the season but they still do pre-game and post-game shows.

i made such a sting to cablevision about taking away chaell 11 wpix, wphl 17, and ant tv,…and that they are giving the nfl network for free to the gol,d member subscibers—– about 20 emails and several phone calls, descibing my out-rage——- that we have been getting the nfl network for free on channel 11 for like the last 3 weeks

I doubt that was a called play. Ichiro made a rookie mistake there and it wasn’t helped by ARod faking the bunt and bending down t give Wieters a clear throw to third. Yanks have been making fundamental mistakes ALL year long. Everyoe knows not to make the 1st out at 3B. Hope it doesn’t hurt us.

I would vs RHP but I’m OK with ARod breaking up the lefties Ichiro & Cano since he has a .308 BA and .924 OPS vs LHP. I just hope Girardi learned his lesson and doesn’t drop Cano to 5th again….doh!!
No way is Cano hitting #3! Your best hitter hits #3 A-Rod has an OBP .353 Cano and Swisher are higher but not that much. Leave A-Rod where he is, along with Cano. Of course those that don’t like A-Rod say move him down to #8…that would show him just how bad he is right
Bye the bye, A-Rod did score a run to-night didn’t he? So I would say three of the four guys I call Zombies (Martin, Swisher, A-Rod, Tex) did do what I said had to be done.
That didn’t take much figuring at all…everyone knew they had to do something to help the team win and they did!

CC going on the DL might have been a blessing in disquise, he has looked like the old ace the last three starts. By pitching him deep over 100 pitches he appears to be very strong. This is a big plus for the Yanks.
He hasn’t had great velocity but his command is as sharp as it’s been all year. He won them this game today. While Baltimore was matching up and using their entire bullpen since the 6th inning, CC kept us tied since the 3rd inning until they could get something started in the 9th.
We all expected Jeter, Ichiro & Cano to do well but we have to be happy and somewhat suprised that Swish and Tex went 3 for 6 with 2 walks and 2 RBIs. Those 2 guys coming thru and CC’s gem were the keys to the game.
Arod is lost , Hankies and TWASP were right ….either bench him or pull a Torre and drop him in the lineup . We are wasting the

Cano is the best hitter by far, you are right but, he is the run producer. The guys that knock in the runs with power and BA always hit # 4. Why do you think A-Rod was always #4?

Tommy Gun…you are at it again…I have never said Jeter was washed up but, you and others keep saying A-Rod is washed up. If, A-Rod has a season as bad as this year (not counting injures) I would agree with you 100%, But hands and leg injuries are a problem to recover from, in a shot time. Not an excuse, just fact.
Why is it, when I had suggested moving Jeter to the bench, for a time out and rest, when he was in a very long slump! Which everyone says was why he came back strong after his time off for injury.

In the last 25 games , 126 plate appearances , Arod has only 4 xb hits. FOUR! And he’s batting 3rd for the most powerful team in the AL…….why? Leave the EGO at the door.

I have refraned from saying this but
I hit the wrong button, but I regress. You sound like a A-Rod hater. Most of the time pitchers will pitch very careful to A-Rod…they have a bit more respect for him than you and a few others do. No, he is not the same as before but, the team was going down hill when he was injured…remember? When he cam back is when the team started to win again…it is called stretching the line-up, or any other word you wish to use.
Joe had some line-ups that were nothing but bad, until A-Rod came back. He is still a force in the middle of the line-up…much more so than anyone we have to replace him with. If he never gets a hit, he still makes the pitcher work more than facing some of the replacement players we have. And he still gets on base, therefore he is a runner to be driven in…just as Jeter and Itchy are.
I still may have old ideas but, the game is still the game I always played, just different names that’s all!

The best team to play would have AROD and CHAVEZ in a platoon,thats never going to happen.
Alot of guys have talked about the problems Arod is having at the plate,
Age, injury ,steroid abuse,mechanics ,leg kick ,you name it but to me the sign he is close to being done is that when he guesses right and gets his pitch he can’t handle it.I have seen alot of low 90;s FBALLS blow him away.

You are right Eric. If CC pitches like he did tonight the rest of the postseason, this team will go far. In 2009 he was a true Ace and led the team to the WS but the last 2 years he was not good in the playoffs. Tonight he had that great command and he battled all night long.
