Morning Bits: Game Time!, Robinson Cano, Orioles = Red Sox???
Good morning everyone and a happy Sunday to you all!! Tonight CC Sabathia takes the hill in Game 1 of the 2012 ALDS vs. the Baltimore Orioles. Jason Hammel will pitch for the Orioles. First pitch is at 6:15pm! Stay tuned to the blog today where I will post the postseason 25 man roster and the lineup for Game 1. Until then, here are the morning bits!
– Welcome to October! On paper tonight the Yankees have the advantage vs. Jason Hammel but let’s see how this all plays out.
– In 2009, Alex Rodriguez was the Yankees lead man in the postseason. Not this year. This year it’s the best 2nd baseman in the game–Robinson Cano!
– According to Mike Lupica of the Daily News, the Orioles are the Yankees new Red Sox. If you mean annoying to the point where they won’t go away kind of like the pre-2011 & 2012 Red Sox then he’s exactly right.

Not mentioned in the bits but Good for Francona getting the gig in Cleveland. He has a good group of young talent there including stud catcher Carlos Santana.
I was kind of sort of hoping the Red Sox would re-hire Francona, but the Indians could use him as well.
I think the bridge was burned after they let him go last year with Francona. He is a smart baseball guy and will do well imo in Cleveland.
Let’s do some predictions today. We got a full four games today.
Noon Oakland vs Tigers — Milone vs Fister — I will take the A’s in this game to tie things up.
3PM Nats vs Cards — Gonzalez vs Wainwright —- Nats take a 1-0 lead
6pm Yanks vs O’s — Sabathia vs Hammel —- Yankees win in a blowout go up 1-0
9:30 PM Reds vs Giants — Arroyo vs Bumgarner —- Giants tie it up 1-1
so what do you all see happening today.
For Oakland vs. Tigers – Milone vs. Fister: I’m going with the Tigers on this one. Fister has pitched great for the Tigers.
For Nationals vs. Cardinals – Gonzalez (still wish it was Strasburg) vs Wainwright: I’m going Nationals.
Yankees vs. Orioles – Sabathia vs. Hammel: Obviously the Yankees.
Reds vs. Giants – Arroyo vs. Bumgarner: I’m going with Giants on this one.
I’ll take Oaktown, the Nats and the Yanks; if Cueto takes the bump it’s Reds, if it’s Arroyo I’ll go Giants.
Tigers, Nats, Pinstripes, The west coast Gmen. I think SF had a legit shot to come back and win last night, Chapman looked uncomfortable
