Well the Yankees still couldn’t hit a beach ball if it was thrown to the plate. The pitching has been great but the hitting is just pathetic. Girardi could pull the lineup out of a hat tonight and I’m sure it wouldn’t matter. Anyway we got our big game pitcher in tonight as C.C. will take the mound.

If the Yanks loose to the O’S tonight it will be a total imbarisment.The O’S are the worst team to make the playoffs in the last 20 years.The best player on the team is a castoff in Nate Mclouth,really this lineup is terrible,nothing but b players .There’s not 1 position player that could make the Yanks starting lineup ,well maybe 1 Wieters and Jone s thats it,oh and Jone s sucks wouldnt even want him.
Girardi is the reason we will loose,he just doesnt get playoff baseball at all.
He thinks its the middle of the season and doing nothing is the right thing to do ,don’t rock the boat.His claim to fame is pinch hitting for Arod wow big shit.

Sorry for the rant guys it just pisses me off that Girardi does nothing.I said yesterday if he didn’t play Raul over Swish he deserves to loose ,well he did.
I couldn’t believe he didn’t play Ibanez last night. And then I thought for sure he would pinch hit for Alex in the 7th. This is why Girardi makes no sense. He PH for Alex the night before against a tough RH reliever so why not do it again?? O’Day has K’d Alex all 3 times. He waited til the 13th with 2 outs and no one on to hope for a miracle.
ARod is 0 for 12 with 8 Ks vs RH this series. The Ks are killing us. Even Jack Curry says there is no way Alex should start vs Hammel today. Granderson is 1 for 16 with 9 Ks!

Fish one thing I thought of. If he pinch hits Ibanez Buck likely walks him and then you have Swisher up there bases loaded. Only thing I can think of
Yeah, that was the reason Joe gave after the game and it might have happened but that would have been OK. Pressure is on the pitcher with bases loaded to throw strikes plus Swish as a lefty has a much better chance to loft a sac fly vs the sidearming RHP. And of course it clears us from having ARod up against O’Day who he has no chance against and was a certain out.
Lastly, if he didn’t like the Swisher vs O’Day matchup, he could have used Chavez to PH for ARod then if he walked him, use Ibanez to PH for Swisher with bases loaded and 1 out or vice versa. In any case it would have been a Lefty up against O’Day with bases loaded 1 out instead of ARod vs O’Day with 2nd and 3rd 1 out.
True and Swisher actually looked like he had the best swing’s on the team last night, which is saying something lol. Just missed a couple HR’s.

HAAAA!! BP we posted the exact same lineup……slightly different order…..at the same time! Great minds think alike! However since we both think it there is no way Joe will do it.
Oops, I see you went with ARod over Swish. I went with Swishe because he was 1 for 2 with 2 walks in Game 1 when Hammel started while Alex went 0 for 4 with 3 Ks. ARod has great career #s vs Hammel but he simply cannot hit RHP AT ALL right now. Use him as a PH when they bring Matusz or Patton in later in the game.

No Gardner. The man has started since April u cant put him in now. Ichiro in CF and Ibanez in LF yes but no Gardner. And then 2 out of 3 of Nix/Chavez/Arod.
you would be ok with Ibanez in the OF in an elimination game. DH him or have him come off the bench is the only options in my book.
When the team scores 1 run a game Matt I have to think about whats best for the offense first
I think I like this line-up with only 1 question to ask of you.
Jeter can’t play SS with that foot, he isn’t covering enough as it is, that foot will make him wave at a lot of balls.
Put Jeter at DH if he can run well enough and set A-Rod on the bench. I take the team, over A-Rod or Jeter…can’t run (stop & Go) or home to 1st, set him too…hopefully Jeter can DH this day.
There is noway Jeter should play in the field. DH or bench, only!
Jeter was moving fairly well last night so it’s worth a try having him playing SS.

I must disagree with Jeter running well last night, he was pushing it a lot.
Playing SS is all stop and go, moving quickly, as it was he wasn’t covering much ground, this would make it worse. I can like his wanting to play but, as with A-Rod…it is about the team not the player.
Hankies, he looked fine running the bases as was very quick down the line.
He’s fine …..the TEAM needs it’s captain, now that the Albatross has failed.

Everyone knows you hate A-Rod, well, that is you right…the same as it is mine to say Jeter can’t play an acquit SS with a bad foot. Nunez/Nix is a better option to-night. Jeter at DH is better than in the field, just my opinion. neither one of them have 3 (Really 4) errors in 4 games, do they? An ego is something to be controlled.

The thing is, I can’t see very many of those records being broken. Not with the way things are set-up now days.
AROD on the other hand has played in 72 post season games, with 71 hits, a 262 avg, with 27 hitless games,…….and only 19 multi hit games
46 post seasson games without an rbi,…..and only 11 multi rbi games

A-Rod quit using before coming to the Yankees, and the Yankees didn’t know he was a user until he was outed…so they say. We don’t know if A-Rod was asked and said yes or no. Why would they try to bring a law suit now when Andy and Jason used but have said and done nothing with them.

Anyhow, bottom line is MLB/MLBPA would never let the Yankees quit paying A-Rod. A-Rod could go to the Yankees and tell them he would take less money for the rest of his contract but, The Union would not let it happen, they have blocked others from doing just that.

There is no morals clause or questions of past crimes, in a baseball contract. If there was such a clause about 1/4 of the players would be out of a job.
As for A-Rod opting out, (I could be wrong) my memory says it was his agent that opted out, not A-Rod.
A-Rod fired his agent and called Trump, Trump called the Yankees (Geo. or Lavin). Geo. told his son Hank A-Rod wanted to play for the Yankees only. Hank made up a contract for A-Rod. A-Rod signed it.
So, please put the blame on Hank, not A-Rod or King Geo.! I believe that is the way it went down.
