maybe i missed it,.. but mlb announced yesterday i think that cano is in the top 5 for the mvp voting.
why isnt jeter in the top 5? jeter led mlb in hits,.. hit safley in 128 games,…. and woulda scored a lot more runs had cano hit while jeter was on base.
i hope this link works for all. Top prospect list for Yankees from baseball america. enjoy. http://ht.ly/f9ELt
my favorite part of the list….
BEST
TOOLS
Best Hitter for Average Tyler Austin
Best Power Hitter Gary Sanchez
Best Strike Zone Discipline Taylor Dugas
Fastest Baserunner Mason Williams
Best Athlete Mason Williams
Best Fastball Jose Ramirez
Best Curveball Bryan Mitchell
Best Slider Mark Montgomery
Best Changeup Brett Marshall
Best Control Caleb Cotham
Best Defensive Catcher Austin Romine
Best Defensive Infielder Cito Culver
Best Infield Arm Cito Culver
Best Defensive OF Mason Williams
Best Outfield Arm Slade Heathcott
Biggest surprise would have to be Heathcott over Sanchez and Austin. What do you guys think about that?
I’d agree Heathcott has always been a big talent. It’s just the injuries that keep getting in the way.
Heathcott is a tremendous talent and probably has the highest ceiling of anyone in the Yankees system. However, he has so many question marks also which make it difficult to rank him. His last 2 years have been very good . He played very well before injuring the shoulder again in 2011 and had a strong finish to this year and in the Arizona league. I think a guy like Austin has a much higher probability to hit his ceiling as a player but Slade has scary potential……runs and fields like Gardner (not quite as fast) and has ability to hit for average and power.

Your ideas and opinions are right and everyone else is wrong. Ok, I get it! This is your site now, I am sorry to have put fourth my opinion.
Please forgive my impertinence!
old yankee, sounds reasonable to me, I can’t wait to see Monte and Ardsma. Heathcott looks to get a chance.

TOTAL == 120.5 MILLION FOR 6 PLAYERS
NEED TO DETERMINE THE SALARIES FOR 19 OTHER PLAYERS ACCORDING TO BASEBALL REFENCE.COM
FISCAL RESPONSIBLITY SAYS THE YANKEES HAVE 59.5 MILLION TO DIVIDE BETWEEN THOSE 19 PLAYERS, TO KEEP A 25 MAN ROSTER AT 179 MILLION, TO ENSURE A 40 MAN ROSTER OF 189 MILLION
THIS IS GOING TO BE HARD TO DO,….. IF YOU LOOK UP AND DOWN THIS LIST OF UNKNOWN SALARIES ON THIS DATE
players are just gonna have to take less money or walk,….. not only this season,,, but next season too,…… , and going forward,…….. when free agency comes, they can take it or leave it,……… the yankees have to get a 25 man roster down to 179 million,…… thats just the way it is,…….. if every unknown of the list above got what they wanted,… the 2013 payroll would once again be well over 200 million,…. sorry
IT WAS PUT GOOD THE OTHER DAY BY A GUY ON WFAN, EVAN I THINK,.. who said sports teams are like a public trust between the owners and the fans,… because the money, ultimately, comes from the public, one way or another.
this is what i have been sayting for a very long time,.. for years
and it is true
the fans do not want to keep taising payrool and add cost onto the public,.. sometimes even the public at large
so,……. we can see a very different team by start of 2014,, maybe even this season ,.. if players are unbwilling to take less, and burn the bridges, and walk,…… as is their right,……
as the article showed today,..THE YANKEES GOT A TON OF YOUNG TALENT THAT THEY OBVIOUSLY HOPE THEY CAN MIX IN TO PLAY
